2024 MILWAUKEE METRO LAY SPEAKER COURSE SERIES
In order to develop lay leadership and encourage both lay ministry and future clergy from Milwaukee Metro churches, we are organizing all seven courses in the UMC Certified Lay Speaker program to be offered from February to July, 2024. 
We invite participation from as many Milwaukee area churches as possible to grow the relationship among the metro churches and their members. Though class meetings will be held in the Milwaukee Metro, these courses will be open to anyone in Wisconsin.
As detailed in the schedule below, this Certified Lay Speaker course series will be offered from February to July, 2024, with each of the advanced courses held on two Saturdays (9 am to 2pm), two weeks apart, to give time for study, reading, or discussion in between. Courses are primarily in-person and include a working lunch. If necessary, individuals may apply for a Zoom option, but singular attention and full participation would be expected, and in-person is strongly preferred so that we can build relationships and have more open discussion and fellowship. Some reading, study, and writing will be required outside the scheduled class time.
Anyone can register for a single course, the whole series, or whatever combination of courses they wish. Details on each course are below:
